Half Way Through the CCM!

Okay so I was bored and I figured out that by the time I leave the CCM I will have 22 months left on my mission, I get that bored sometimes :/ Also every Tuesday night is pizza night and last night I had 5 pieces so I think that was the fullest I have been while I have been here :) I have scored four goals while playing soccer and played goalie and made some awesome saves!!  So far Gym is my favorite part of the day!  Also, me and my companion Elder Najarian, who is from Bountiful, Utah, we are now Zone leaders!! Only 3 weeks in!! 

We just taught Juan about the word of wisdom which was interesting because we were all ready and half was through he asks is marajuana is bad because he smokes it, so we explained to him that because Adam and Eve ate the fruit, God put both good and bad natural things on the Earth. But he has stopped his addictions which we were happy about!! 

On Sunday we watched the John Tanner story which I love!! It was cool and I learned so much more, probably because I am on a mission so I related more to him. 

Also this week our hermanas pulled a prank and got us to practice singing for sacrament meeting, then they told us that they were joking with us (I was watching another district have sunday school when this was announced) then we did end up having to sing because the branch president heard about our practice haha.  It went well, we sang Praise to the Man (in spanish) I actually love singing in spanish. So later that day we had one of the other elders pretend he was going home and he got his face wet and everything and walked in and told us and went out of the classroom. The hermanas were dead quiet while the rest of us were trying not to laugh! Then he came in and said " Psych!!"  It was so funny watching the hermanas react, Hermana Howell threw her scriptures at him, thankfully he caught them. That was probably the best part of the week!  

There is this man here who makes homemade scripture cases and we get a picture and our names, mission and a scripture on them, we saw some samples and they are incredible! so I got two, one to hold my spanish and one to hold my english, it was about 90 dollars but I think it will so be worth it and something I will tresure forever!! When I get them I will send pictures of them!!!  (The scripture he chose was D&C 50:24)

What in the World is the CCM?

In case you've been wondering what the CCM is.... here's a short video that explains.  Every missionary called to serve spends time in a Missionary Training Center (MTC) before they head to their assigned mission.  Missionaries who will speak their native language on their mission, spend less time, but missionaries who will learn another language spend more time.  Provo, Utah is home to the most popular and well known MTC, but there are actually 15 MTCs around the world!  So, CCM is the Spanish Translation for MTC...., and if you want to know the full spanish name, scroll down to the post to find the photos of him with the sign.  :)

Week 2 at the CCM

Okay so where to start, I guess I will start with the fact that I have nicknames here, the most common one is Crimson Chin, haha. :)  Other news is that we hear gunshots and
 police sirens almost every night so it interesting thinking about what is going on out there. Another thing that has happened is we started playing the line game in our district and not everyone has figured it out yet!!  It goes like this ( Okay from me to chandler, a great line! But from me to the border, horrible line.)  Can you get it?  Sundays, Tuesday and P- Days are my favorite days out of the week!!  Our first investigator Carol, committed to be baptized!!  So that was a great feeling!!  Now we have Juan and Juana, who is from Spain so it is pretty cool!! Now I get back to the states on the 16th of October, and I come home August 19th of 2015. The other night we had some Latinos still in our house and some how a huge pillow fight broke out and it was such a stress reliever!!  Also this week was Mexico's Independence day so there were fireworks and guns shot and everything!  We had a Mexican night where performers came and did some dancing and then the next night we watched the broadcast from city which was cool! I love and miss all of you!!

End of Week One at the CCM

Okay, so im on day 8 here in the Mexico MTC and there have been a lot of things going on haha. 

 First off day 1 was really difficult for me, I was really home sick and the wave of spanish has been really surprising. I think I speak better now then I did in High school which is kinda sad!  We have 10 people in our district and 2 of them are sisters, all of us are super close and have had a whole lot of experinces together that have shed some tears, both happy and sad. Every day we have breakfast at 7 and then have personal study time in out classroom. Then we have lessons with our two teachers, Hermano Gutierez and Hermana Dewey. They make class fun and entertaining! Also we have Devotionals every Tuesday and Sunday night and gym time during the weekdays. We play soccer or basketball normally, my companion is 6 ft 9 in so it is interesting haha.   

Then we get to go to the Mexico City temple every other week so I got to go today!!  Overall it has been fairly nice down here besides the first few days and it has gotten better everyday.  :) Thank you guys for the love and support!!!  And every night there is this stupid cat that meows and we call it "el diablo gato".  Oh I did eat some cow tongue that I thought was a very thin mexican steak!

Day One, Travel to the CCM

The plane ride was great!  There were about 30 missionaries on our one flight!!  I sat next to one who is going to San Antonio and he is 6'9!! I'm so excited to get started! You would not believe how big this place is!!  They have a full track with a soccer field and a full football field! And all the Elders are super cool and we have a few sister with our group. I miss you guys already and I cant wait to here from you! I love you guys and I miss all of you!  Tell everyone I say hello!! Audios!!!
